Meet the Bunnies

We've got 5 of the cutest bunnies you've ever seen. It all started in 2005 with Cailey's Mr. Rabbit. He made the move with us from Texas in 2007, & even got to spend the night with us in our hotel room. Fun! Next came Rylan's Fuzzy. Then Zach's Spot stumbled across our backyard last summer & soon became part of the family. He even made a trip with us that summer to Texas. Cara's Fletch joined us in March 2009. Then finally Cole's little Cotton Ball in September 2009.

Now that's cold.............

Well, we weren't lying when we said we were getting ready for winter...it's here! This morning after a very cold night the rabbit's water bottles were frozen solid! Yikes! I brought them inside thawed them out and took them back out to some very thirsty bunnies. The bunnies are all staying nice & warm. All three of them have been spending a lot of time inside their new hutches. Buster was even in his this morning...with a fuzzy bunny tail sticking out. He's our biggest bunny & has the snuggest fit! We've been feeding them extra food with plenty of treats. So they are all big and fat. Stay warm, our fuzzy friends!

That thump made me jump!

Last week I was all snug in my bed when I awoke to a loud thump...then a medium size thump then a small thump....it was our cute adorable bunnies thumping outside...one of them must of gotten spook then the next one started and the next one started. It wouldn't stop! I couldn't go back to sleep with all that thumping! So, I got out of my warm cozy bed and went outside at 2:00 in the morning to check on the bunnies...I was about half way across the yard before the thought came to me...it might be a wild raccoon or snake...but I kept on going even though I was scared! I check on each bunny...they were all safe and sound. No more thumping was heard. I went back inside....laid my head on my pillow. Then THUMP!!!! Aaghghghghghghhhh!!!!!

When you have one bunny you can get the small rabbit food bag....but when you have three this is the one you get...the super extra large rabbit food bag! :) (Thanks Walmart for carrying the super extra large size now!)

Spot in his new cage!

Spot inherited Fuzzy's old cage. We cleaned it out and put a new tin roof on. Here's a video of him checking out his new cage.

Introducing our Bunnies

This is our newest bunny Spot. He is a English Spot. He is about 6 months old. Our neighbors let us keep him after he kept getting lose from their yard. We got him the day before we left to go to Texas for vacation. Since we didn't have a hutch ready- he made the trip with us in his pet carrier! He was a pretty good car rider. We noticed a couple of "sores" on him before we left. It turns out he had a bot fly larvae in his neck! Aagghh! Yuck!!! After much care (from animal scientist, Clay) he has made a nice recovery! Yeah! The picture shows his neck almost completely better- just needs some fur! We just put him in his new hutch this weekend! He is Zach's bunny. Zach says he is handsome, cute, very gentle and you can pick him up. He is solid white with black spots.
This is Buster- Cailey's rabbit. He is a New Zealand rabbit. Zach has taught him some tricks-high fives with his nose, kisses, follow the leader, and to stand up! We've had him the longest. We got him in March 2006, so he is over 2 years old! We saved him from a bunny farm that ate rabbits!!! He made the move with us to Arkansas. We even had to sneek him into the hotel room the night before we signed on our new house! He can usually be found like this picture shows all laid out with his eyes half closed! Cailey wants you to know that her rabbit is friendly, he doesn't bite anyone (unless you stick your finger in & he thinks it's a carrot), he's cranky (usually toward Zach for making him do tricks!), he loves strawberries & carrots & he doesn't like squash and he loves her & tries to lick & hug her!

This is Rylan's bunny, Fuzzy! We are not sure what kind he is...maybe a Rex, or Rylan thinks he might be a jackrabbit. He is our most active bunny! He likes to jump, play, run in place and chew on everything! We thought he was a biter at first....but then we realized bunnies just do that to communicate after getting a bunny book from the library. He never bit hard just a "love" nibble! He hasn't done it anymore. I think he has gotten use to all of us. He just got a brand new cage. Clay made him a hutch like Cailey's rabbit's. He is just getting used to it. We think he likes it! Rylan wants you to know that Fuzzy is a good rabbit, he can do lots of tricks like jumping & spinning in the air and he loves him very much!
